Terrific article and very insightful. The Administration acts like they can force the change on people and want to blame those that disagree with them. What they should be saying is what are we doing wrong (as in the administration). They should have expected people to work against them, or as you say throw themselves in front of the plane and scream we're going to crash.
I know that in business, when things aren't going well, management wants to blame those around them for not getting it done. Sooner or later everyone begins to realize that it is management that is not doing the right work.
I think the election of Scott Brown was the way voters said to the administration, "you are not doing the right work".
Keep up the great articles.

While it would have been a real benefit for Chicago, bringing the Olympics to Chicago is opening Chicago to more payoffs and corruption. Your concerns are valid, I only wish it wasn't so.

It is interesting how Peolosi is interested in public opinion when it comes to the war but ignores public opinion poles when it comes to the health care bill. Pelosi likes public opinion when it aliens with her views and if she disagrees then the public are Nazi's.

I have to believe that our government officials are well aware of this connection. They know that that government run health care will be rejected by the people of this country. I think you are right that they have found a way to get there in a few steps rather than deal with the public outcry if they were to try and enact legislation immediately.

The idea of health care for all really does sound good, but it will come with real consequences. I'm not sure we have really thought through the consequences.

So many people say that the US health care system does not perform well compared to other countries, but that is because not everyone has access to health care, not due to the quality of care. We need a way to improve access and lower costs at the same time. Tort reform could reduce costs by 20%. that alone would put the US health care costs closer to other developed countries. Our litigious society has created a lot of these problems.
